Fred's Devo # 27 One Body with Many Members

3"For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us" (Romans 12:3-6a NIV)

Today, we will begin to discuss One Body: Many Members

"So in Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts according to the grace given us."

Christians should not see themsleves, just as individuals reconciled to God through salvation. Certainly we thank God for our salvation; but in addition to that, we are connected to each other. Just like the individual parts of our body are connected to and interdependent on each other; so we are connected to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We need them to survive.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times when I have acted like an independent Christian and not appreciated how important the body of Christ is to my growth and survival. Thank you for the precious body of Christ! Help me to love and serve my brothers and sisters to your Glory! In Jesus Name! Amen!
